Disappointed
Sorry blog world that I haven't been active in the last month. :(
After waiting months and months the Army really disappointed me with their choice on where to send us next.
We have been at our current duty station in Maryland for almost 5 yrs now and we were hoping to go somewhere further south.
We got word that the Army wanted us to stay here at our duty station for another 3 yrs (I was so bummed and totally understand why people go crazy). I went into a depression for a few days, but then we got word that we might get a choice between staying here or going to a duty station 1 hour south of us in VA.. (Sweet). We scoped out the area and actually excited about moving.
Yeah that didn't last long, we got word that the unit hubby would be stationed with would be moving up here to MD later that summer so no need for us to move.
I should be happy since I already know this area very well, have friends here and a job, but I'm still kinda disappointed. My itch to move and see a different area/state is growing daily. Hubby would not be deploying with this new unit he's joining so that's also good news.
Now I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that our oldest Son gets accepted into a charter school for when he starts 6th grade next year. The middle school here on base is not somewhere I want to sent him.

Halloween Golf
My oldest Son had Golf Practice today and they were told to dress up. I thought it was hilarious watching 15 kids dressing up playing golf. They were also hunting for golf balls and got prices for best costumes.

Fall is officially here and with that it's time to dress your little ones up up in their best costumes and take them Trick or Treating.(One of my favorite things to do)
This year I have an Astronaut, A Tinkerbell and Frightful "Scream" Character. They can hardly wait until Sunday night where they can finally ask People if they want a Trick or rather give them a treat. "Trick or Treat Smell my feet, give me something good to eat"..
Today was Book Character Parade day at School and I snapped this picture. Unfortunately I didn't get one of my Oldest Son.

Fall or Spring..
So we had some cold days where I had to pull out most of our winter garb and I packed away most short sleeved clothes. (Dislike)
But now this past weekend and this week it's suppose to be in the 70's again (Today it was 77F).
I had to dig out short sleeved shirts and shorts so the kids wouldn't melt while playing outside.
I'm so not complaining about this weather because it's AWESOME. I would be in heaven if it could be like this all the time.
My kids found the enormous bucket of chalk and decided to draw all kinds of stuff on our back patio, ride their scooters and bikes. They chased the dog and the dogs chased some poor innocent squirrels. (He never catches them and I think they jump over our fence and laughs at our dog. "haha silly dog, like you would ever be fast enough to get us.. Bwahahaha")
So I'm thinking I need to keep both summer and winter clothes out until Mother nature decides what season it really is. If it was up to me I would keep this awesome weather around for awhile longer.

The never ending sickness..
I think my 10 year Old Son said it best "Mom I think we're all allergic to the cold weather. Whenever it gets cold outside we get sick. We just need to move back to Florida where it's nice and warm". Oh don't mind if we do.
This time it was my 5 yr old Son that got sick. He started out complaining of being tired and cold on his field trip to the Pumpkin Patch with his Kindergarten class.
He kept telling me he was cold and wanted to go home, but I had to tell him we couldn't just leave. We had to wait for the School bus and go back to School with his class.
The minute we came home he told me he wanted to nap. (So unusual for him since he never naps)
He slept for over 3 hours and still went to bed at 8 pm that night. At 3am I get a tap on my shoulder and a "Mom, I have a headache, can I have some medicine?" I felt the heat radiating from his body and knew he was sick. What worried me wasn't that he had a fever of almost 103 it was that he woke up with a headache. He has had these headaches almost every single day (after school) and would ask for Tylenol.
I made a mental note to call the Pediatrician as soon as I could.
Nick was fever-ish all night, but at 7:30 am fever was gone and he felt better. I sent him to school with his Sister, but knew that sometime during the day I would get a phone call.
1:30pm I get a call at work that Nick has a fever and is extremely lethargic. I left work in a hurry and found him at the Nurses office looking as white as a Ghost. I made an appointment with the Pediatrician that afternoon.
We seen a different Pediatrician than we usually see and she took one look at Nick and knew he was sick.
She asked so many questions and checked him out. Her recommendation was to take Nick to the ER.
Due to his many headaches, he was so lethargic and his really bad cough.
We spent 5 hours at the local ER where they did a CT scan, took a bunch of tests and kept him under observation until they felt comfortable to send him home. We were told that he possibly had a strand of the Flu, Strep Throat and croup. Whoa!! Nothing like getting everything at once. I felt so bad for him, but knew that he was under the care of great doctors. (He was given steroids at the ER)
Luckily his CT scan came up clear and they think the headaches are all sinus related (Just like me). I need to get him a referral to a ENT to get him checked for allergies to alleviate him from having these headaches. My poor Baby.
Now 3 days later he's doing much better, but is still a little tired and has a god awful cough.
We also just realized he has a loose tooth and a new tooth behind the one that is loose.
He is now begging me to pull the loose tooth so he can put it under his pillow for the tooth fairy. :)
Now I'm just keeping my fingers crossed my other 2 kids don't get sick..

This past week was a busy one, but I can't complain. (Yes I will.)
I was sick with a bad cold (I'm cursed with getting colds several times a year on top of allergies and sinus issues) and had to stay home from work. I literally felt like a truck had ran over me repeatedly, but thankfully medicine and my Neti pot got me feeling better in no time.
Wednesday myself and the kids got the flu shot, for most people this isn't a big deal but for me it was the 1st time in my life I have gotten one. It hurt just as bad as everyone had told me and to this day it still aches. :(
(Yes I'm a wuss.)
Kids were not happy about the shot and to cheer them up they asked for a Happy Meal from McDonalds.
(Hey I'm all about rewards and letting them choose).
Twins arms were really red and Nick actually got a little sick the day after we got our shots.
I was at work "happily" playing with the Kindergarten kids, when one of the office staff tracked me down and told me the Nurse from my kids school had called. " It's not an emergency but they want you to call them back, your Son is sick". Poor Nick had a horrible headache and felt nauseas. I left work and found Nick in Music class looking white as a ghost. I took him home and we snuggled on the sofa until it was time to get Chris and Sarah. He perked up later that afternoon.
This past Friday was a teacher work day, so no school for the kids, no work for me and it's hubby's regular day off.
We needed to get out of the house and went to a.Pumkin Patch an hour away in Fredrick.
We had a BLAST, there was so much to do and we got lost in a huge Corn Maze.
I would totally go back there even though it was windy and chilly..

Oh Monday!!
Oh how I despise Mondays, If I could I would cancel it permanently.
(Oddly enough my kids and our dog agree with me on this)
Work today was hectic and I wanted to turn around as soon as I stepped foot on work property. Mondays are specially tough for Special Needs kids, just getting back into a routine is hard and they would rather just do things that they enjoy and who could blame them.Trying to keep them on task or just paying attention in general is tough, so we have to be creative and somehow it all works out. Whenever I question why I work as a Teacher's Aid I go to this website.http://carlysvoice.com/ She's Autistic, but have found her "voice" by typing on her computer. She explains why some Autistic kids act the way they do and how they feel.
One kid was having a really tough time today at school due to his eczema and hives, poor kid was covered in it and was itching so bad. Benadryl and all kinds of ointment was administered, but he was still in agony. This kid's parent was to busy to come get them or maybe she didn't know how bad this it was. I was on the verge of crying when this student was crying, he was hurting all over and all he wanted was for someone to be there to feel sorry for him and to take care of him. I could go on and on about this, but I won't because we all parent differently and I'm trying my hardest NOT to judge. ( I have bit my tongue and counted to 10 countless times).
Coming home from work today was such a relief, I got to snuggle with my dog and take a breather before I get my trio from school. I have almost broken down and gotten them from school early, because I miss them so much and I have no clue what they are doing. I wish I could be a fly on the wall or maybe equip them with a camera.. (I'm dead serious and I bet I'm not the only parent that feels that way).
Monday I still despise you, but It ended up being a pretty good day after all.
(Hubby who works late came home early to have dinner with us and to prepare for a PT test tomorrow)

My Son the Golfer
My oldest Son bowled on a league for 2 yrs and he had fun. We all had fun even when his siblings joined in and bowled on the Pee Wee's last year. Bowling itself started way to early for this Mom (9am on Saturdays. Yawn!) and in the last few months of bowling it was taking it's toll on the kids too. This fall we chose not to return and we're still figuring out what the twins should be doing.
For my oldest Son we found this AWESOME golf program here on post. It's an International program, that has recently been introduced to Military kids.
http://www.thefirsttee.org/club/scripts/section/section.asp?grp=0&NS=DD
Since this is a new program to this Military post they offered it to the kids for Free, that made this Mom happy. I hate paying for an activity that my kids don't like or enjoy. Lucky for us he is enjoying golf and wants to continue.
It's not all about learning Golf, it's also about Respect, Building confidence and life skills.
I don't think he'll ever be as good as Tiger Woods (before all the scandals), but I hope this is something he will enjoy doing for a long, long time.

Hello Fellow Bloggers
Most if my friends are bloggers and I truly enjoy reading what is happening with their families and it Inspired me to start my own.
Blogging is so much more personal than to read 2-3 lines in other social network sites.
I have come to the conclusion that I spend way, way,way to much time on Facebook, so instead of posting little bits and blobs in my status updates I will now write whatever is going on in our life HERE!!
So Welcome to whoever you are reading this.
These are my kids, My life, My everything and what I live for. My Oldest Son is a 5th grader and my twins are in Kindergarten.(Yes they are twins. Yes one is taller than the other and No they are not identical)
They keep me busy, drive me Insane, but I truly love every minute of it.
I have been married for 11 yrs now (it makes me feel old to say that, but we married young), been an Army wife for 7 yrs and so far lived in 3 different States. (Florida, Georgia and Maryland)
As the title of my blog says we're Misplaced Floridians and hoping to real soon get to move back to Central Florida. Going back there on Vacation is like a breath of fresh air and we enjoy it to the fullest. We stay in a hotel rather than stay with family, we visit theme parks and generally act like tourists.
We're up to get orders soon and we're hoping, praying and keeping our fingers crossed
to be close to family. Not my family, because they all live in Europe, but to my Husband's family.
Well enough rambling from me, I have 3 kids to tend to, a house to clean and a husband that needs some attention before he heads to work.
